Best Delegate – Considered the pinnacle of individual MUN awards, the Best Delegate recognition goes to the participant who not only displays the highest level of preparation and knowledge but also excels in leadership and collaboration. Serving as a “First Place” recognition. Receiving the Best Delegate award is typically determined by excelling in 5 skills of: Research, Speaking, Caucus, Writing, and Debate. Assessment and performance of these skills are adjudicated throughout the duration of the conference.

Outstanding Delegate – Is given to a high-achieving participant in a conference or simulation, most commonly referring to the second-highest award competition after the “Best Delegate” award. This award is given for exceptional performance, demonstrating strong skills in preparation, debate, diplomacy, and leadership within the committee. Assessment and performance of these skills are adjudicated throughout the duration of the conference.

Honorable Mention – Recognizes standout delegates who impressed the chairs and made a notable impact, serving as a Third Place recognition. It is assessed with the delivery of passionate, captivating, and creative speeches, the active maintenance of a memorable presence in the committee through wit, bold stances, or unique perspectives. It also recognizes growth or significant improvement throughout the conference. Makes a significant contribution to a key event, clause, or bloc that warrants recognition.

Verbal/Diplomatic Commendation – Recognizes delegates serving as a Fourth Place recognition. It is assessed by emphasizing growth or significant improvement throughout the conference.

Delegation Awards – Depending on the conference, certain colligate MUN universities offer awards to entire teams depending on the amount of its competitors place in their own committees. This can range from Outstanding to Best delegations depending on size, as well as university specific awards that are granted for special recognition and purpose.
